How to go to tanah merah ferry terminal?

I am organizing a free and easy trip to bintan and i found that i cannot take the ferry from the usual Singapore Cruise Centre at harbourfront. I have to buy ferry tickets over at the other ferry terminal, the Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal (or TMFT).
You will need to take a MRT to the Tanah Merah mrt station, then change to Bus number 35 to reach the ferry terminal. The bus will take about 15 mins to reach the ferry terminal.

大人の科学 – otonanokagaku – Part 2

My girlfriend brought a present with her when she visited me last week. It was a 35mm twin lens camera and you need to assemble it by yourself. It has been very long time since i tried to read a japanese instruction. Furthermore, we discovered several labeling mistakes in the assembling instructions. We discovered them thanks to its high definition diagrams of the parts. If you are working on them, remember to double check on the publisher website for the amendment.
Assembling the camera took us around 4 hours. Beside the ...

Planting lotus is tough work – part 4 – The End

After those sprouted leaves all died without opening up, i decided to transfer the seeds to the soil.

You will noticed that one of the seed’s external has turned brown (bottom left). The other seed’s shoot also start to dry up (bottom right).
Not long after, i saw fungi growing on them before my mum threw them away. I have 5 seeds left.

Planting lotus is tough work – part 3

Ok, i have thought of some crazy idea. I am not going to create a muddy water for my lotus. Through surveying the world (the internet), i stumbled about a magical invention! The crystal soil! Tada!
These crystal soil can absorb water and keep the plant moisted. The crystal soil is rather cheap. They cost SGD$2 per pack and i bought a total of 8 packs (50% for my colleague). Well, i suppose it came in different quality because my “red” crystal soil went de-color after i added water to them. ...

Planting lotus is tough work

Planting lotus is tough work and here is the reason.
Many years ago, i bought some lotus seeds from a thailand florist. It was only recently my mum talked about planting lotus, then i brought out the seeds to show her. She dropped around 4-5 seeds into a small tank and changed water regularly. However, after more than a month, there was no visible change to the seeds. Then i remember i read something about hacking the seed’s shell from the shipped instructions (2 A4 pages of instructions). However, i have ...

What will an Arahant do? Jeffrey hurts his back

I hurt my lower back on 13 Aug, thurday. The cause must be the heavy stuff i was carrying on my right shoulder on the way to work. When i was returning from home, the pain started getting worst. I had to stick 2 pieces of the pain plasters on my lower back. They did not help much during the night. Whenever i moved my body, the pain will be there. The next day, the pain seems to have affected the nearby nerve, it started to give rhythmic acute pain ...
