Planting lotus is tough work – part 3
Ok, i have thought of some crazy idea. I am not going to create a muddy water for my lotus. Through surveying the world (the internet), i stumbled about a magical invention! The crystal soil! Tada!

crystal soils
These crystal soil can absorb water and keep the plant moisted. The crystal soil is rather cheap. They cost SGD$2 per pack and i bought a total of 8 packs (50% for my colleague). Well, i suppose it came in different quality because my “red” crystal soil went de-color after i added water to them. The color came off! So maybe those more expensive crystal soil can retain their color… Buy at your own risk!
As you can see, my lotus already growing its leaves out of the tank. The crystal soil also did a good work to hold the seeds in place and i suppose it will keep the mosquito away.

crystal soils growing out of control
Then the next day, mum said “Your cannon balls seem to be out of control, they are growing out of the tank!”
They (the crystal soils) really can drink water and grow! They are growing out of my tank! The packet instruction did says “… add 1000ml to the crystal…”. Need to make sure i don’t add to much water to them now.

Hi,
Check with you about crystal ball… Do u sales these???
Hi Apple,
You are referring to those crystal soils? No, i don’t sell them. You can order them online. If you are in SG, you can get them easily at the florist. They came in different grades and prices. You can get them at reasonable price at Daiso too.
Regards.
How long did the crystal soil last? when did you throw it away?
Hi. I suppose they should be able to last for 1 – 2 years. The better quality ones should be able to last longer. I threw away because my lotus project failed and i have no immediate use of them. I still have a few packets left.
